The first time Mom (left) ever left her home in Virginia was to go and live with her sister Exie (right) in Baltimore. Mom’s mom, Margaret Perkins (center), came to see her two daughters in what may have been the only time she ever left Hurricane Creek. Mom was about 19 years old in this picture.
